Scotia Recycling Limited (SRL), a member of the Scotia Investments Limited (SIL) family of companies, is an operator of Atlantic Canada’s leading recycling facilities located in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland. With an approximate workforce of 175 dedicated employees, we specialize in the collection, processing, sales, and brokerage of recyclable materials, and are a proven industry leader that has been in operation since 1976.

SRL is seeking a highly motivated Data Entry Specialist to join our growing team. This is a 18-month contract located in Kentville, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate plays a critical role in supporting the Kentville MRF with managing Circular Material Atlantic’s (CMA) pre-conditional contract by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with audit and operational standards. This position is essential for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), managing documentation, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the post-collection services that will be performed in Kentville.

Key Responsibilities

Data Entry & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain complete and accurate records related to post-collection receiving and operational activities within the MRF.
  • Scale data integrity and ensuing accuracy of product receipt inside the Kentville MRF will be critical.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with CMA’s requirements and SRL’s internal audit standards.
  • Organize and archive digital and physical records for easy retrieval.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Capture all requisite data and ensure it is uploaded to the appropriate databases in a timely manner.
  • Prepare regular reports on throughput, inventory accuracy, and other KPIs as requested.
  • Support the development of dashboards and visualizations using Excel and SiteDocs.
  • Assist in identifying trends and anomalies in production and inventory data.

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Facilitate internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct spot audits and verify data integrity across systems.

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with CMA team members to ensure timely updates and data submissions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in business, administration, or data management preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in administrative or data entry roles, ideally within waste management or logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SiteDocs, and other data management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information responsibly.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with frequent check-ins on the production floor (Kentville MRF and scale) for data verification and/or audits.
  • Tuesday-Friday typically for 40 hour work weeks between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Specific work schedule to be agreed upon with supervisor.
  • May require flexible hours during audit periods or reporting deadlines.
