Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Duties
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and ledger maintenance using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while verifying accuracy and supporting documentation.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements.
- Assist with budgeting processes by tracking expenses against budgets and providing relevant financial insights.
- Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.
- Contribute to process improvements by recommending best practices for bookkeeping procedures and financial reporting.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms is essential.
- HAS WORKED OR WORKS IN FRESHBOOKS
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations enhances your suitability for this role.
- Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, account analysis, and bank reconciliation with precision.
- Strong understanding of debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and financial concepts is required.
- Experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes along with payroll management is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills including 10 key typing proficiency for data entry accuracy.
- Ability to interpret financial data clearly through financial report writing and account analysis.
